How it runs

3 stages. In this order, for a reason.

Stage 012 weeks

Territories

Two or three distinct visual directions, each a genuine argument rather than a variation on one idea.

Stage 023–4 weeks

Development

We take the chosen direction and build it out across the applications that will stress it hardest.

Stage 031–2 weeks

Systemisation

Rules, assets and guidelines, packaged so your team can run it without us.

What this is

Identity is a system, not an artwork

An identity is judged on the thousandth application, not the first. It has to work at sixteen pixels and on a building, in the hands of a junior designer and in a template a founder edits at midnight.

We design the system, not just the mark: a typographic hierarchy with real rules, a palette that carries meaning rather than decoration, art direction that briefs a photographer, and layout principles that keep the brand recognisable when we are not in the room.

Everything ships with a guide that explains the reasoning, because a rule nobody understands is a rule nobody follows.

Questions

How many logo concepts do we get?

Two or three territories, each a real position. Presenting a dozen options usually means the strategy was not settled first, and it turns a business decision into a preference poll.

Can you do identity without doing strategy first?

We can, and sometimes it is the right call when the positioning is genuinely settled. But if it is not, we are guessing about what the design is meant to signal — and design that is guessing is expensive to redo. We will say which situation you are in.

Do we own the files?

Yes, entirely. You get working files, exports in every format you will need, and the fonts licensed to you. Nothing is held back as leverage and there is no ongoing fee to keep using your own identity.
