Ten rackets, one decision

A padel equipment brand with ten near-identical-looking rackets, restructured so a buyer can find the one that fits them without needing to already know the difference.

The challenge

ZOR Sports sells performance padel rackets across the UAE — Vortex, Titan, Prestige, Lightning, Invictus, Impact, Fury, Blaze, Apex and Ace — from roughly 200 to 850 AED. Padel is growing fast, which means a large share of buyers are new to the sport and cannot tell these models apart. Ten evocative product names are an asset once you know the range and an obstacle when you do not. The brand’s real differentiators — technology, ergonomics and adaptability — were stated as values rather than expressed as reasons to pick one racket over another.

Our approach

We built the site around the question a buyer is actually asking: which of these is for me? Skill level and player segment became the primary navigation rather than a filter applied afterwards, so a beginner and a competitive player enter through different doors and see a shortlist instead of a catalogue. Each racket’s technical attributes were reframed from specification into consequence — what this construction does to the way the racket plays. The three brand pillars were pulled out of the About page and attached to the products they explain.

The outcome

A storefront that routes by experience level rather than by product name, and turns a range that reads as ten variations into a range that reads as a considered ladder.

Product names are for people who already know

Vortex, Titan, Prestige, Invictus. Strong names, and completely opaque to someone who took up padel last month. A first-time buyer confronted with ten of them has no basis for choosing, and a buyer with no basis for choosing either leaves or defaults to price.

Defaulting to price is the worst outcome for a brand whose case rests on construction and technology, because it turns a considered purchase into a cheap one.

Segment first, browse second

ZOR already segmented by skill level and by men’s, women’s and kids’ ranges — but as filters, applied after the buyer had been dropped into everything at once.

Making segmentation the entry point rather than a refinement changes the whole experience. The buyer answers one easy question about themselves and gets a shortlist of three, not a wall of ten. Everything is still reachable; it is just no longer the first thing anyone sees.

A range that confuses the buyer is not a broad range. It is an unstructured one.

Specifications are not benefits

"Advanced and very exclusive technologies" tells a buyer nothing they can act on. Carbon layup, balance point and core density only matter once someone explains what they do to the way the racket behaves in your hand.

We rewrote the product level so every technical attribute carries its consequence: what it means for power against control, for how forgiving the racket is off-centre, for who it suits. The claim stops being a claim and becomes a reason.
